Oath Home and Sustainability
Sue Whimster Curtains Ltd is excited to announce that we are now working with Oath Home (Offcuts Assisting the Homeless). Oath Home is a sustainable, luxury furnishings company that uses fabric offcuts to produce high-end soft furnishings. What makes this company unique is that 100% of their profits are donated to the charity Step by Step. Their mission is to support young people through the hardest of times, including homelessness and aim to end the cycle youth homelessness for good.
As a sustainable brand, Oath Home’s design team and industry specialists work tirelessly to produce the highest quality products with limited fabrics. Oath Home maximise their sustainably by using envelope folds (as opposed to zips) for the closure on soft furnishings. This diminishes the use of new materials and allows ethically responsible production.
Every year, close to 17 million tonnes of functioning fabric is sent to landfills or is incinerated. At Sue Whimster Curtains, we are working to minimise this wastage by donating our offcut fabrics to Oath Home.
Oath Home provides a simple, yet effective, solution to reduce this statistic through their successful partnerships and in supporting young people via Step by Step. We look forward to seeing what they create with our offcuts in the near future.
